Tire additives found on Swiss fruit and vegetables

Tire additives are being transferred into the food chain, says a study by EPFL and the Federal Office of Food Safety and Veterinary Affairs (FOSV): 31% of samples contained traces of these substances. The health consequences have yet to be examined.
