The transition to Neolithic agriculture through cultural dissemination

A Turkish-Swiss study reveals that the transition to agriculture in the Neolithic period was not achieved solely by migration, but also by cultural diffusion. In western Anatolia, locally stable populations adopted new lifestyles without major population movements. Thanks to the cross-analysis of ancient genomes and archaeological data, scientists are showing that ideas sometimes travelled further than individuals.
